Courtney Sharos (b.1996) is a visual and performance artist based in Limerick, Ireland. She has recently been awarded funding from The Arts Council of Ireland- Agility Award, round 1, and Grants Under The Arts Act from Limerick Arts Office. She has worked intensively with internationally acclaimed performance artists such as Amanda Coogan. Within the last year, Sharos was a venue manager for Ireland’s International Biennale, EVA- which showcased Cameroonian artist Em’Kal Eyongakpa, a former co-director for Spacecraft Studios, an installation assistant for artist Ciara Phillips and curator Sara Greavu, Project Art Center, Dublin and was an editor and performer for ‘They Come Then, The Birds’ for Amanda Coogan in Rua Red, Dublin. Currently, Sharos is undergoing training and receiving long-term mentorship from Australian Multi-disciplinary artist Ida Sophia. Throughout her duration at college and after, she has participated in many exhibitions and artistic projects including group exhibition third-year show; ‘Scarlet Poesis’, Visual and Performance Arts Festival; K-Fest, Graduate Show 2018, ‘Be. Cause’ and group show ‘Internalization of Shame’ 2019. Sharos has also completed two internships ‘Live Collision’ ,‘126 Artist Run Gallery Curatorial Internship’, and was on the curatorial panel for PeakShow @Riverfest. Sharos is now upskilling in a Welding Traineeship.
