Éilis Fanning

Éilis Fanning is a visual artist with a BA in Fine Art (Painting) from Limerick School of Art and Design (2024), and a background in outdoor education and recreation. She combines painting and metalwork to create uncanny and dreamlike versions of familiar landscapes on sheets of battered steel and copper. These works capture the weight of subjective meaning that places hold, while exploring the ways that infrastructure shapes our use and perception of space.

In 2024, she was awarded a Collector General Purchase Award and an OPW Purchase Award, and a commission on behalf of the Mayor of Limerick granting her work inclusion in state collections, as well as multiple private ones. Her work has been featured as part of many exhibitions, including her solo shows A Cyborg Walks The Wilderness, in Spacecraft Studios, 2025 and Sun-gazer, in Friar’s Gate Theatre.
