Short-term project studio ASSOCIATE membership

Building on the success of the Associate Members Scheme in 2024 and 2025, Spacecraft introduced a new short-term project studio membership model in 2026. This revised programme was designed to support artists developing ambitious and large-scale projects by providing a dedicated semi-private studio space alongside access to a larger shared making and test-installation area.

Associate members were provided with a personal workspace with 24-hour access, as well as bookable access to the large-scale making area in Unit 6. The programme enabled members to develop more ambitious work, make use of Spacecraft’s equipment and facilities, and engage with the wider studio community. Associate members were also offered the opportunity to participate in Spacecraft exhibitions, showcasing their work alongside full studio members..

Following the success of the programme in 2024, Spacecraft ran a second 6-month Associate Members Scheme from March to September 2025. The scheme provided selected external arts practitioners with access to the project space for up to 20 hours per month. Members were selected by the Spacecraft Board of Directors following an open call announced through our social media channels.

During the programme, associate members used the project space for a variety of activities, including meetings, workshops, and the development of their own creative projects. They were also invited to participate in Spacecraft exhibitions, showcasing their work alongside that of full-time studio members.
